Arts Festival Reflection

These pupils told us specifically what they liked about the art gallery. Such writing or explanation is very commendable because the readers will know exactly what you like.

So next time when you reflect on a topic, DO NOT just write "I like it", "It is nice" or "It is beautiful". Continue the sentence with 'because' to explain WHY you like it.

For instance, I like class 1-1 pictures because they used the correct colours, or Class 1-1 drawings are so nice because they are so creative.

(above) Yu Ling tells us the reasons why she liked 1/7 the art gallery.

(above) Irfan used adjectives like bright and beautiful to explain why he liked class 1/8's art gallery.

(above) Pei Shan explains briefly why she liked class 1/4 drawings.

We had our picnic on Friday!

The pupils had been waiting for their turn to have a picnic in the school prior to their MLEA writing. Finally, the day came. Almost everyone came with bags of snacks and tidbits, and their personal toy/teddy bears!

Hope that you can still recall the process starting from our 'travelling journey' to our picnic venue, and the songs we sang.

(above) This is our spot to have our picnic. See, we had placed all our food in the centre.

(above) The sun was out after a short but heavy downpour. Here were the four lovely girls having their picnic.

Samuel (right): I look more cute, right?

(above) Aaron: I am too busy munching my food and being Wen Xuan's bodyguard now.

(above) Wow, Wee Khong, our Mrs Ang served you with cakes!

(above) Kudos to Justin who was very civic-minded because he was one of the few pupils who cleaned up the floor after the picnic. The other pupil was Si Yu who offered to help Miss Woo to clean the area too.

Passion fruit, what are thou?

(above) Passion fruit when it was still not riped. Photo taken in HortPark, Singapore.

Most pupils had their first try eating passion fruit today. Not only that, they also had the chance to hold in in their hands, touch and feel the skin of the fruit, and smell it.

(above) Passion fruit when it is ripe. This fruit photo was taken when I went to HortPark, Singapore!

Of course, they got to try the juicy yellow flesh with crunch black seeds. A number of them were quite put off when they saw the slimy flesh and we got at least one convert who likes it after the first try!

Read more about passion fruit here.

(above) Raziq was the very first pupil to try the passion fruit. What does his expression tell you about how he thinks of passion fruit? Sour? Sweet? Delicious?

(above) See the yellow stuff on their spoon? That is the passion fruit! They were very courageous to try it!

(above) Owen: I better make sure the passion fruit is still on my spoon.
Gabriena: Arrrgh......ready to swallow the flesh...only after the photo is taken!

(above) Finally it was our turn to try the fruit!

(above) Ms Lee & Mrs Ang wanted to try too! Do we look like we were eating our medicine?

(above) Hey, we, the four beautiful girls were next to taste the fruit!
