Make your own edible spiders

Hello, 1-1, these are some examples that Miss Woo tried making this evening. I'm sure you can create an edible spider together with your parent(s) too!

That is, you must do it with your parents and not simply watching them doing it throughout the whole process.

Remember to take a digital photo of your edible spider and send it to me (please see my email address on the letter to your parents) OR save it in a thumbdrive and pass it to me before this Thursday!

If there is no digital camera or internet access in your household, bring your edible spider, in a container with lid, before this Thursday so that a digital shot of your spider can be taken.

You can take a digital photo of you eating the edible spider too!

You can eat your 'spider' after a digital photo of it is taken! Yummy!

For this Friday English Lesson (in comp Lab)

Oh, also remember to jot down on the flip side of the letter the ingredients used and the procedures (steps) of making the edible spider.

You may need the following words to write the procedures:

First, I ... ...
Next
Then
Finally
Lastly

What tense will you use to write the steps in making the spider?

You should use past tense.

Example on past tense:
First, I shaped the rice into two balls. One for the head and the other for the body. Then, I cut the vegetable stems into 8 equal pieces. Next, I poked 4 stems into one side of the body... ...

(above) This is my 'healthy' spider dinner! Two balls of brown rice as the body and head, green stalks of vegetables as eight legs, two raisins as the eyes and two grains of pine nuts as the fangs. This spider is in a puddle of soup!

(above) This is a spider made of tidbits. Two gummy candies as the body and head, and the long elastic tidbits as the legs and eyes. The packaging of the ingredients are seen on the top.

(ab0ve) What do you think this fat and juicy spider is made of?
Well, the body and the head are made of plums, the legs are from pocky sticks and the eyes are pine nuts.

(ab0ve) The side view of the fat and round spider, which some of you commented it looks scary because it is all black!
We look forward to see your creative edible spider!
