3. Woodlands Science Zone

This site has many topics which pupils will learn starting from P3 in Singapore. I tried out the topic on Sound under Physical Processes. It links to this (below) which gives a brief explanation on what is sound.

So I decided to click on the game "Identify the sounds game" which links me to this site (below).

See, there are so many activities which I can have fun and learn at the same time.

Art and English activites for 10-14 Nov

Hello children!

These are some activities which I thought are pretty interesting for you to do during your free time since school holiday is around the corner (means coming soon).

1. Famous Paintings and Art Appreciation for kids

Choose which artist and the painting that you would like to read. After reading, you can choose to do the activities like online jigsaw puzzle, crossword puzzle, colouring, online word search and word scramble or print the worksheets to do.

I've tried the one on M. Loulou by Paul Gauguin and played the online jigsaw puzzle because I enjoy this activity a lot.

Now it is your turn!

2. NGA Kids
A number of online activities to work on. I'm sure you will love to explore this site.

3. Crayola Site for Kids
Explore this site on your own!

Create digital stories with photostory 3 (with audio explanation)

What is next after learning the skills?

These are some suggestions you can do with your child:

1. Use your family outings photo and get your child to write a story about it.
Describe WHAT you did, WHERE you went, WHEN did you go, HOW you feel and WHY you went to the place. This is a narrative or descriptive text.

2. Take photos of a procedure done at home, e.g. when you are cooking/sewing/cleaning the house/baking etc. Then have your child to record the steps of the activity. This is a procedure
text.

3. Download some photos (e.g. a river, wild life in Africa, children dashing across the roads etc) /cliparts from the internet and have your child to describe the emotions, size, shape, or his/her reflections when he/she sees the graphic.
